ICE DAWG TEAM MANAGER GUIDELINES
Team Managers
There is always one representative from each team that will serve as the team manager. He or she is responsible for many items, however each parent must volunteer to help when needed.
1. Communication
This is probably the #1 item. You are responsible for passing on information to your team members and their parents. This includes any game changes, additions, tournament information, practice changes, etc. Attendance the Hockey meetings is strongly encouraged. Keep in close contact with the scheduler and also work closely with your coaches.
2. Equipment/Nametags
At the hockey sign-up in the Fall, players will receive their jerseys. As a team manager, you are responsible to make sure that equipment is returned when the season ends. The hockey officers will provide you with a list of equipment handed out and who on your team has what. You are also responsible to make sure that everyone on your team has a nametag for the back of their jersey. Nametags are available for purchase at Faye’s Henhouse Quilts.
3. Publicity/News
It is your responsibility, or to assign the responsibility to a parent, to author an article for the local newspapers. Team managers will also be instructed on how to enter scores and other pertinent information onto the website.
4. Away Games/Tournament
Parents are responsible for making sure their player gets to the away games. If there is a tournament or game that requires an overnight stay it is the team manager’s responsibility to make reservations at a local motel for the group and then get the reservation information to the parents. Usually a motel will let you reserve a block a rooms (ask for a group discount when making the reservation) and they will give you a date reservations need to be made by.
* If weather is questionable, you should consult the coach, make a decision, and then call the opposing team and parents to inform them know of your decision. You should also call to have it broadcast on KMAV, 786-2335.
